Sage Mas 90 / 200 - General Tips - Out of balance 4.0
DSD Sage MAS 90 Tech Tip 37 - "Out of Balance" in Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200 4.0 G/L Trial Balance
by Ken Phillips
Problem One: The Sage MAS 4.0 General Ledger Trial Balance Report may print an erroneous message “** The Trial Balance Report is Not in Balance**” when the report option ‘Type of Balances to print’ is selected to ‘Beginning Bal./Activity/Ending Bal.’. All accounts are in balance, and the Debit and Credit amounts are equal. This problem is caused by a rounding issue with the amounts, and seems to occur after Period End is processed.
Sage Software, Inc. has documented this problem, and plans for this issue to be corrected on the Sage MAS 4.05 release in the Fall 2004. There are no plans at this time to issue a program patch.
Problem Two: If Non-financial accounts are used, the amounts for the Non-financial accounts are included in the G/L Trial Balance and Detail Ledger reports, causing the reports also be Out of Balance.
Sage Software, Inc has released to program patches, GL-4006-T and GL-4007-T, which will correct the problem. Call DSD Business Systems for help obtaining and installing these patches, or they can be downloaded directly for the Sage Support website.
