Sage Mas 90 / 200 - General Tips - Sage MAS 90 and Sage MAS 200 Require a Share Point on your Server

When installing Sage MAS 90 or Sage MAS 200 it is important that you set up a share point at a parent directory above the Sage MAS 90 folder. Do not create the share directly at the Sage MAS 90 folder. Failure to set up the share point, or failure on the workstations to correctly map the drive to this share point may cause problems with third party applications such as Crystal Reports or FRx.

Both the Installation and Administration Guide –Sage MAS90 and Installation and Administration Guide – Sage MAS200 document the need for this share point.

“To run the Workstation Setup program from the installation directory of a Sage MAS200 Server, use Windows Explorer to attach to the server share point where Sage MAS200 is installed and select the MAS90\WKSETUP directory. Double-click AUTORUN.EXE to run the Workstation Setup program. It takes the Workstation Setup Program a few moments to launch.

If you do not see the Sage MAS90 folder in Windows Explorer , then the share point was set up to be the Sage MAS90 folder. The share point must be set up to a parent folder above Sage MAS90. Click Exit and cancel the Workstation Setup program.”
Installation and Administration Guide – Sage MAS 200, pp.23-23.

“At the server, create a share at a parent directory above the Sage MAS 90 folder. Do not create the share directly at the Sage MAS 90 folder. Every workstation will be required to map a drive to this share point.”
Installation and Administration Guide – Sage MAS 90, p. 35.

Workstations that are not mapped correctly to the share point above the Sage MAS 90 folder may experience:

Error messages - "The Crystal RPT file for ###-XXX does not exist. The default form will be used".

Alternate Directory Maintenance fails to work.

Extended Solutions do not install correctly.
